Maryellen hold a B.A. in Economics from Vassar College ('65) and a J.D. from University of California at Berkeley. She worked at APL Ltd.* before becoming a Partner at the law firm Morrison & Foerster LLP, and serving as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Transamerica Corporation.** SInce 2006 Maryellen has been the Non Executive Chairman of ABM Industries Incorporated, a facility management company (provider of building management--janitors, window-washers, etc.). She has also served on the leadership of Pacific Gas and Electric Company, which has been regarded as a monopoly utility company and has a number of other issues. She is a tustee of the Benilde Religious Trust and the University of California at Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive. Her husband, Frank, serves on multiple boards including Cardax Pharmaceuticals Inc. and The Charles Schwab Corporation.
